I worked with Roane County educational and business leaders to raise awareness of the critical role that an educated workforce plays in the success of our county, its businesses, and the region as a whole. A part of my mission was to inspire our citizens to be active in supporting our community’s efforts to implement higher academic standards in our schools, improve student performance, and increase the number of students graduating from high school and obtaining post-secondary education. I facilitated efforts between businesses and the educational community to increase opportunities for individuals and the growth of our business community.

Serve as Election Officer during and for Knox County elections. This is a part-time job/responsibility.

Selected as a member of the Leadership Roane County Class of 2011.LEADERSHIP ROANE COUNTY GOAL: To develop a cadre of informed leaders who will be active in community life; and who will support a volunteer program dedicated to the positive growth of Roane County. PROGRAM OBJECTIVES: - Develop a common understanding among leaders of the broad issues facing the county. - Create a relaxed, neutral environment for problem solving. - Provide opportunity and informational base for thoughtful study for some of the compelling concerns of Roane Countians. - Create a forum in which significant dialogue can develop between present leaders and future leaders. - Develop a sense of total community among the various constituencies in Roane County. - Form a network of committed and trained leaders who can collectively encourage and support each other in community service.

Director of JA BizTown, an experiential-based elementary education program for 5th grade students. Allen was one of the primary JAET leaders responsible for the envisioning, planning, organizing and implementing of JA BizTown. He also served as the JAET Education Director, responsible for coordinating and delivering economic education programs that were taught by volunteers.
