As a kid, I couldn't stop asking questions. I had an insatiable curiosity for everything around me in life. My mother's happiest moment was probably when I was old enough to find the answers on my own at our local library, but this curiosity has served me well. This curiosity drives my passion for learning and strong belief in the mission of educational institutions. Truly, education has the power to unlock the potential for anyone's future. To that end, I'm currently pursuing a PhD in Teaching, Learning, and Technology so I can contribute to the vast body of research on how people learn because everyone deserves an opportunity to gain knowledge and be educated. Currently, I'm researching assessment options for computational thinking in computer science and other curricula.I've also been leading initiatives in higher education for over 15 years in areas such as advising and student support, technology, and enrollment management. I've lead the development of a virtual student success center, developed an online first-year student registration process at four institutions, worked with vendors to implement half a dozen enterprise-wide software applications, modernized an office, and presented regionally and nationally on student success and technology applications. I know my way around programming languages such as HTML and SQL and can explain technology in non-technical terms. I've worked extensively with faculty, staff, and students to collaborate on university initiatives, find creative solutions to complicated problems, and implement change. I'm always interested in learning something new so if you have something to share, feel free to contact me.
