Allen Saeks' substantial experience in bankruptcy litigation arises out of his handling of various real estate developments and creditor claims, including the defense of Ponzi scheme clawback claims. In addition, he has handled shareholder disputes in closely-held corporations. He has handled a large family trust litigation in South Dakota circuit court, and prevailed in a trust litigation in which the court removed trustees for breach of fiduciary duties. He represented a prominent family in complex shareholder litigation in Minnesota federal court, and obtained a judgment for more than $26 million against a Florida real estate developer in a federal court in Florida. Allen has also represented defendants in complex hostile takeover litigation and has successfully defended major financial institutions and their officers. Certified Civil Trial Specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association, Allen is a past chair of the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group.Allen has recently received the Richard S. Arnold Award for Distinguished Service and Lifetime Achievement for the Federal Court for the District of Minnesota. He was nominated by Chief U.S. District Judge Michael Davis and his colleagues. The award commemorates the life and accomplishments of the late Richard Arnold, longtime Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
