-Maintain industry expertise (SME) with in-depth knowledge of national accounts, new store construction, and building material categories.-Write specifications, prepare bid forms and handles bidding process, analyze bid results and make recommendations, award business, award contracts, authorize and sign purchase orders.-Maintain sourcing calendar for 100% of responsible categories (including development of bid packages and administers Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP) and Requests for Quotation (RFQ) for traditional bidding, and online auction processes).-Creates commodity strategies for core categories that optimize category spend throughout the category’s lifecycle.-Lead pilots and tests conducted for the evaluation of innovation and new item applications, for assigned -Manage supplier performance and relationship issues (invoices, transportation claims, delivery, financial stability/metrics, etc) using standard performance metrics (including the verification and monitoring of supplier qualification and certification programs).
