With over 5 years of experience as a school principal and assistant principal, I am a passionate and effective leader who strives to create a student-centered, self-determined, and inclusive learning environment. I have a Masters in Teaching and a certificate in Educational Administration from Western Washington University, and I am proficient in staff development, communication, and group communication skills.As the principal of Shuksan Middle School, I oversee the implementation of the USL initiative, which involves running professional development, facilitating data-driven conversations and decisions, and coordinating instructional practices around individual student needs and common assessment data. I also focus on building relationships first and using data, observations, and teacher passion to develop learning in students. Additionally, I create district-wide professional development around regulation strategies for adults and students, aiming to foster a safe and supportive climate and culture. I believe in supporting adult learners and families through UDL practices and accessible learning modules to achieve equitable outcomes. I am committed to advancing the mission and vision of Bellingham Public Schools and empowering our students, families and staff in equitable and effective ways.
