I am currently finishing my final level II fieldwork at CHI St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, MN. At this facility I have had the fortune to work with a variety of patients and in multiple areas of occupational therapy's scope of practice. My case load includes pediatric outpatients, post surgical and medical inpatient adults, and adult orthopedic outpatients. This fieldwork has given me valuable insight into working with orthopedic patients while still helping me gain more experience working with the pediatric population. I will be completing this fieldwork June 28th, 2019.

Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area

For this level II fieldwork experience I worked in the adult inpatient psychiatric facility at Hennepin Healthcare. I gained experience working with clients with various mental health disorders including depression, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, antisocial personality disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, substance abuse induced psychosis, anxiety, and other disorders. During this time I lead arts and crafts based groups and wellness groups for clients on both general and ICU units. This fieldwork allowed me to have a deeper understanding of mental illness and how occupational therapy can make an impact when helping clients with these concerns.

Maplewood, Mn

During the 12 weeks at this facility I gained insight and knowledge into working as an occupational therapist in a pediatric outpatient clinic. I worked with children with various disabilities included developmental delays, sensory processing concerns, autism spectrum disorder, genetic based disorders, and more. During this fieldwork I learned a lot of valuable information about sensory processing, feeding, charting, evaluating pediatric clients, creating my own intervention plans, and discharge planning. I greatly enjoyed the pediatric experience as I hope to work with the pediatric population.

While in school I am working as a family nanny. I help with child care, as needed, including duties such as feeding, bathing, activities, and outings. Needs change for each child and each family.

Baxter Mn

I worked the front desk at the office as well as working closely with the patients to strengthen the muscles surround their spine. This allows them to make great progress with their pain, mobility and other issues they may be experiencing. I enjoy the patient contact and seeing their amazing success as they heal.

Fargo

My current job is a private nanny position for a family in Fargo. I take the girls to their activities, help with chores, meals, snack, homework, piano and assisting them in continuing to pursue their personal interests and learn from their environment.

Temporary summer job with a local family. I worked full time with their two boys. I was in charge of cleaning, activities, errands, lunches and any other miscellaneous jobs asked of me.

Eagan

While working for this family I cared for four children, occasionally five, ages 12, 9, 4 and 2. This was usually an evening job that included feeding the children dinner and snack, taking them outside to play and getting them ready for bed.
