At age 18 right out of high school my current orthodontist at the time asked if the dental field would be something I’d be into. I always knew I wanted to be in a field where I got to work with anatomy so I jumped on the offer. I worked in his private practice for a year, and then moved up to corporate dental where I worked there for 5 years working with multiple doctors and assisting in several locations. I became a lead assistant to 2 of the 4 doctors I was working with. Then my boyfriend got stationed to VA and I moved out there to work in a small practice that I absolutely adored. Once his contract was up with the USN we moved back to WA where i continued assisting for about a year and a half. Even though I have and will always have a special place in my heart for Ortho, I knew I wanted to do something else, I just didn’t know what. Then one day an opportunity to work in finance landed in my lap. I jumped on it and have loved being able to serve and help my community. Educating my friends, family and community on what the school systems don’t teach never ever gets old. I guess you could say I love helping people!
