The primary mission of the Job Success Specialist is to drive quality job success outcomes for job seekers upon completion of their professional and technical coursework. • Provide career advising and coaching, facilitate job search planning, monitor learner progress, and lead small group programming to engage and support learners in the Job Success phase of the program• Host regular check-ins, 1:1 meetings, group sessions, and related job-sourcing tools, strategically following up with learners to maximize placement outcomes • Provide ongoing job search support for Merit America alumni in need of additional interview preparation, tailored resume reviews, and other assistance• Identify and share job seeker support resources and tools including sourcing local and national events that help job seekers enhance their skills, networks, and job prospects

As an Assistant Director, I supervised, trained, and evaluated 3 professional Career and Internship Advisors (CIA) serving the Coles College of Business and the Institute for Cybersecurity Workforce Development. I provided group and individual career advising for 9,000+ business and cybersecurity students and alumni along with my CIA team, empowering students and alumni to make informed decisions about career options. I worked to develop strong relationships and collaborate with partners and stakeholders within and external to KSU, including faculty, staff, and employers, to enhance the student experience.

While serving as the Career & Internship Advisor for the Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology (SPCEET) at Kennesaw State University (Apr. 2021-Nov. 2021), I assisted current students and alumni with resumes, cover letters, career exploration, and their job search. I also collaborated with faculty, department chairs, deans, and employers to provide resources to students and facilitate connections to aid them along their career path.I also previously served as a career advisor for the Coles College of Business (Oct. 2018-May 2021). The majors I worked with include Economics, Finance, International Business, Management, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality Management, Marketing, and Professional Sales.I led dozens of professional development workshops and presentations, including tips on networking, interview tips (both in-person and virtual), resumes and cover letters, and exploring various career paths.

In this role I supervised 2 full-time Residence Directors and indirectly supervised 18 undergraduate Resident Assistants in a residential community of 1,150 students. I managed a budget of approximately $23,000 for programs and supplies to support the mission of the department to enhance the student experience. As the primary point-person for the south side of campus, I collaborated with campus partners to support 5 Theme Housing Living-Learning Communities. I also provided crisis response for over 3,500 residential students to address policy violations and concerns, including alcohol and drug incidents, mental health concerns, and high-level roommate disputes.

As one of the senior-most Area Coordinators, I was given the opportunity to lead and supervise the remaining 3 masters-level ACs and indirectly supervise our 8 full-time Residence Directors and 60 summer Resident Assistants across 2 campuses. I led monthly team meetings to review departmental updates, initiatives, and strategic planning for summer and fall semester operations. I also served as the departmental liaison for summer orientation sessions and housing tours, move-in and move-out planning with our facilities and operations teams, and the University's Behavioral Response Team to review students of concern. I provided senior-level crisis response to over 5,200 residential students in the absence of the Director of Residence Life.

As a full-time, professional Residence Hall Director, I managed the daily operations of the single-largest residence hall on campus, housing 734 students and nine (9) Living-Learning Communities. I supervised, trained, and evaluated 15 Resident Assistants plus 1 a professional Assistant Residence Hall Director who served as the advisor for the GSU chapter of National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH). I maintained an annual programming and operational budget of $11,500. I effectively managed administrative duties associated with residence hall opening, closing, key audits, room changes, and maintenance concerns while maintaining student confidentiality. I also provided crisis management for over 4,100 residents on a campus-wide weekly duty rotation. In addition to my primary role, I developed professional staff training and development opportunities as co-chair of Professional Staff Development and Training Committee. I also assisted with implementation of Panther L.E.A.P. (Leadership, Engagement, Achievement, Pride), a student leadership program through reviewing candidate applications, serving as a cohort leader, co-leading biweekly Peer Mentor staff meetings, and coordinating final project presentations. Each semester, I facilitated educational sessions during Residence Director training, Student Leadership Institute, Resident Assistant In-Services, and New Student Orientation (Incept) sessions for incoming students and their families.

My primary role was managing the daily operations of co-residential, suite-style residence hall housing 437 students, plus supervising 12 Resident Advisers. I also indirectly supervised 13 Information Assistants and advised 11 Hall Council members. I monitored an annual hall budget of $4,750. In addition to leadership and supervision of the community, I addressed crises during an on-call rotation, and adjudicated alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct as the primary conduct officer for incidents that occurred within the residence hall.
