Secondment to manage multiple data lake projects as part of spinning up a brand new ETL ab initio team within the corporate bank.Being responsible for implementing agile methodologies within the team and helping to structure a 6 week initial training programme for new team members. Working with solution architects to understand and then relay back to the ETL team how data is being moved within the bank.Working with data analysts to implement a team engagement process to improve their teams efficiency.Working with programme managers, product owners and other teams within the bank to resolve intense and high priority issues to unblock the projects and get them back on their expected delivery schedule.Advising on things such as non functional requirements, processes, solution designs and component designs. Creating executive level presentations to update senior management in an effective way on the current position of the teams. Taking extensive technical minutes in meetings to ensure that multiple teams spread across varied geographic locations could understand what was expected of them.Spent the last two months of this focused entirely on hiring 41 new members of staff across all areas of the department due to increased project delivery expectations and demand.Built a custom technical telephone interview pack with 117 questions over 13 areas in our department to allow us to cover candidates strengths and weaknesses in all areas within a 30 minute phone call.Organised interviews for 150 candidates within 7 weeks.Took responsibility for scheduling everything with the candidates directly to speed up the process.Stepped up to interview management candidates within the process and co-ordinate daily with 7 hiring managers to ensure the cogs kept turning.Made offers out to 38/41 candidates within the two month period.The remaining candidates were difficult to hire due to project deadlines.Gave weekly status updates/reports to the directors.

Creating a corporate banking api framework whilst leading a brand new team of developers to deliver multiple back end APIs as part of the open banking PSD2 regulatory changes within Barclays.Acting as the main point of contact between the India and Glasgow dev teams.Working with the Indian dev manager to ensure all APIs were deployed through 4 tests environments and tested before going to production.Mentoring developers within our team as well as developers in other departments with no on site functional manger.Ensuring the APIs were fully documented in RAML to expose onto the internal mulesoft API exchange and allow other parts of the bank to use them.Teaching the team how to merge code successfully, write relevant unit tests to a high standard as part of a custom testing framework, using cucumber and gherkin to create behaviour driven development and ensure all acceptance criteria was met whilst upholding significant code quality standards.
