Allis Druffel has been active with environmental issues for two decades through education, presentations, and writings. She has been with California Interfaith Power & Light since 2009, where she serves as Southern California Director. She has a special fondness for policy work that addresses the deeply inter-connected issues of systemic racial and environmental injustice, clean energy, job creation, and public health. Allis has previous experience in the faith arena, serving as Director of Community Services at Holy Family Catholic Church; and Pastoral Care Director, Director of Music, and Song Leader at various other churches. She spearheaded the Los Angeles Catholic Environmental Ministry in 2008, and happily works with the faith community on implementing the messages contained in Pope Francis’ Laudato si’. Allis is a classical singer and holds a Master in Vocal Performance from the University of Maryland, as well as a Master degree in Pastoral Ministries from Santa Clara University. In addition to climate change work, she continues to sing, often combining Creation education into her recitals. She is working on a CD of music designed for frontline workers of COVID-19, and all those affected by it.
