My mindset was to learn the business side in terms of management, marketing, operations and planning. As well as increasing my aspirations in fashion. This job allowed me to learn an incredible amount of knowledge of how things run at the Hudson's Bay location. From the lingerie department to the men's shoe department. I got to experience hands on learning through planning an actual event at the location and gain a significant amount of knowledge to improve my skill set.

As a hostess, you are the first person to greet the customers and set the tone for the rest of the dining experience. Ensuring that a smile is always a kind greeting, making sure that they are brought to a comfortable table is also important. Another task is to provide them with any other information such as the menu and what is the special. Take-out and pick up orders was also a service that Cynthia's Chinese Restaurant provided and as a cashier, your responsibility is to efficiently take the order and process it. This includes good communication skills through the phone (clear voice and good tone), memorize codes or food products, and arranging the delivery or pick up for the customer.
