I am non-profit professional passionate about fostering pro-girl environments to empower girls to find their voice and leadership - on their terms. I have recently been promoted to Program Success Coordinator with Girls Inc. of Orange County. In this role, I coordinate programs that prepare students for success in College and Career. I am a co-lead for our Girls Meet the Workforce that serves over 200 students to provide career-readiness workshops and a paid internship in their Junior year. I have also co-coordinated our College Bound: Grad Lab program in which we facilitated college-readiness programming and provided individual support for essays and applications. This year, I am overseeing our Smart Ups summer camp in which 50 3rd-6th grade students create their own businesses and pitch it to a team of "sharks." In 2020, I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and minor in Education. I graduated with honors and Distinction in the Major. During my senior year at UCSB, I completed an undergraduate honors thesis entitled "Emotional Labor Among Student Care Workers," in which I designed and conducted qualitative and quantitative Sociological research.I am passionate about helping others and working with children. For two years, I was involved with the UCSB Power of Play program, in which UCSB students attend local elementary school recesses to facilitate pro-social play and problem solving among students. For the academic year of 2018-2019, I served as a Playground Specialist at Hollister Elementary School. I then was promoted to a Captain in which I lead other Playground Specialists and made connections with faculty. After volunteering for seven years, I began work at the Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles El Ranchito Day Camp in 2016. For three consecutive summers, I was employed as a Day Camp Unit Leader. In 2019 and 2021, I served as the Leadership Experience Supervisor, in which I managed the volunteer program. From April 2019-March 2020, I worked with Girls Inc. of Santa Barbara as an After School Program Facilitator in which I developed and conducted programming for girls K-6th grade pertaining to the subject areas: strong, smart, and bold.
