When a patient visits a pharmacy, they need to be able to tell their story, receive the medication they need, and understand how to use it to become as well as possible. I am passionate about providing that multi-level care to my patients. I treat my patients with a friendly, positive attitude, letting them know I am happy they are there and glad to have the chance to take care of them. My first priority in the pharmacy is always making time to listen to my patients. A lot of times, being heard is the first step towards feeling better. Sickness inflicts a lot of negative emotions like helplessness, guilt, anxiety or depression. This is why it's imperative to me to have a positive and caring approach to my patients and their prescriptions.But all the friendliness in the world doesn't help if the prescription is not filled and billed correctly and quickly. That's why I love the high-tech environment of a large retail pharmacy. I am dedicated to adhering to and improving the prescription system, patching up places where an error can slip through, to guarantee accuracy in everything we do. I push my staff to learn and stick to policy, because I can see how it works to protect our patients. I love my work. Even on the roughest of days, I can find at least one patient whose life I changed for the better. That one person reminds me why I wanted to be a pharmacist.
