Allie Martin is a confidential, community-based Advocate for the Oregon-based NGO Safety Compass and has been part of the organization since 2016. Safety Compass serves survivors of commercial sexual exploitation located in the surrounding counties of Portland, Oregon. Allie currently holds the position of Director of Advocacy Services, supervising direct service staff and implementing programming for Safety Compass’ newly opened “North Star Reception Center”. In the last 5 years Allie has held the position of Human Trafficking Task Force Coordinator in Washington County then in Clackamas County and has worked alongside the amazing partners in efforts to create and implement best practice protocols for serving victims of Domestic Human Sex Trafficking. Allie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Willamette University where she majored in both Psychology and Spanish and has over 10 years of experience doing direct service and case coordination with victims of trauma and other vulnerable populations. She previously ran a program that offered advocacy work that utilized Equine Assisted Therapy, at Horses of Hope Oregon. Allie is called upon to train local and national Law Enforcement, Social Service agencies and other community partners on the topic of Commercial Sexual Exploitation and has partnered with the International Gang Research Center to provide data and information on Gang involvement, organized crime and exploitation of youth. Allie was most recently featured in the documentary “Human Trafficking, Portland, OR” by Mark Devendorf and his students.
