Women in Tourism is essential networking and ongoing education for employees of the Gold Coast's tourism industry and associated businesses. Tourism represents almost 8 per cent of total Gold Coast employment approx 25,000 at the time of this post (health care, construction and retail are other significant sectors.

Women in Tourism Gold Coast is an industry body representing all those in the tourism industry and associated industries with a charter to provide networking and education opportunities to members.

Since the start up of AFMC I have utilised my extensive background across a diverse range of industry sectors from private enterprise to local government to primary industry to the not-for-profit sector to offer all facets of public relations and communications skills to my clients. I spent six years working as communications coordinator in a journalism and administrative capacity at Gold Coast Tourism working with a challenging and fascinating spectrum of people from member businesses to government representatives to media to advertising agencies. The excellent relationships I developed were a great platform for the creation of my own business and confidence across a variety of specialities. Along the way I have met and worked with some remarkable women and inspiring men. My experience includes time with Karen Phillips Corporate Communications, Kate Innes at Hello Marketing and Deborah Kelly at Infinity/Spacewalker.The flexibility of working for myself enabled me to complete some postgraduate studies in education and I am also a registered primary school teacher with experience on the Gold Coast, in the remote Western Cape College based in Weipa and in Amman, Jordan, where I spent six months immersed in a richly traditional and colourful culture so different to Australia.

A lifestyle client, I'm assisting general manager Ross Mercer to promote the mission, services and goals of the surf life saving club, beachfront, in the heart of Surfers Paradise. The club's fabulous menu and upstairs function room overlooking the World's Best Beach are a winning combination. The night markets and never ending lineup of events in Surfers mean there's always something happening especially for your entertainment. If you haven't dropped in lately, go treat yourself to lunch or dinner on the upstairs balcony... and make sure you say hi to Ross!

Consultant in communications, public relations, event management and digital marketing for various clients. My week also includes primary school teaching and I'm a singing teacher... and always happy to perform at fundraisers and community events to spread happiness and raise $$$

Destination marketing for the Gold Coast including liaison with national and state tourism bodies, government officials,GCT members and stakeholders and travel writers around the world.

I supported a team of information technology academics as well as the Dean of School and was the first point of liaison for all Bond University students undertaking the core information technology course... introducing them to proficient internet communications.
