I love working with people to make things better, so choosing to pursue engineering was an easy decision. During my time at Binghamton University, I've been a part of many projects which has allowed me to work with my peers to create things that I am passionate about. My Senior Design Project tasked my group with making a mechanical escape room puzzle that simulated a chemical reaction. As a team, we created a 3D model which was then built and implemented into the room.At my internships at Siemens Building Technologies and National Grid, I was able to expand on the knowledge that I had learned in school and also use some new programs. At Siemens, I completed HVAC takeoffs for buildings including the Albright Knox, Capital Improvement, University at Buffalo, Allegany College, and Fredonia College. At the beginning of each month, I reconfigured energy usage data to calculate monthly trends and updated project budgets using SAP and Excel. With National Grid, I learned PowerBI and used it to generate visual reports of the team's sales data and energy savings. I also had the privilege of interviewing employees from several different departments to create an SOP on the accrual process.While I was a Teaching Assistant for the Freshman Engineering Lab, I was able to solidify my skills in the programs that they learn. These programs include SolidWorks, MATLAB, Microsoft Excel, Project, and Visio, Simio, and LtSpice. I was also able to promote a welcoming and judgement free learning environment to introduce the students to their program, which was incredibly rewarding and fulfilling.I'm excited to begin my career in a field where I will be able to have a positive and significant impact on the world!
