Manage portfolio of grants and contracts aimed at helping low-income families and young people develop the experiences, skills and networks needed to succeed in today's economy.

Recruited to revamp local workforce development approach, address long-standing regulatory and performance issues, and repair reputation with key business, community, and government partners. Guided 35-member workforce investment board in investing approximately $7 Million in federal Workforce Investment Act funds and $1.6 Million in local funds in job placement and training services annually. Staffed and managed a new division of six staff. Promoted private sector involvement with the workforce system, established benchmarks for evaluating the performance of training providers and one-stops. Advised Mayor and Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development on employment and training issues. Worked across city agencies, including planning, environment, small business services, consumer and regulatory affairs, human services and disability services to coordinate employment and training efforts.
