About Allison Harbour
Hi, I’m Allie Harbour. I am a senior double majoring in psychology and sociology with a criminology concentration at Auburn University. In my undergraduate career I have truly found an emphasis on being open minded to all opportunities through experiences such as on campus clubs, the creation a DEI platform, involvement in research labs, and even taking courses outside of my requirements. I believe I have become an adaptable, empathetic, and reliable leader through my drive to work in these unconventional positions. The Maslow quote, "I suppose it is tempting, if the only tool you have is a hammer, to treat everything as if it were a nail” best describes my philosophy entering into this field. I believe that change can only occur when being able to see potential in one’s self. My goal through continuing my education is not just to be an advocate for others. I hope to help educate them to gain skills and strategies beyond the unhealthy “hammer” cognitive and behavioral patterns. Additionally, I hope to help others create a more confident self view to further amplify their voice when becoming their own advocate.
