As a dedicated professional in Campus Recreational Sports (RS), I am responsible for the development and execution of the RS Outreach program within residence halls, fostering a vibrant community through engagement initiatives. This involves crafting personalized engagement plans for internal and campus-wide events, ensuring high relational service standards are upheld through comprehensive training for both full-time and part-time staff. Additionally, I actively promote RS programs and services at various events, tournaments, fitness activities, and wellness initiatives. Collaborating with internal and external partners, I devise strategies to connect students in residence halls to RS opportunities. Managing a team of approximately 14 RS Outreach Assistants and 1 Program Assistant, I oversee their recruitment, training, supervision, and assessment to effectively execute department initiatives across campus. Furthermore, I take the lead in organizing the RS Sneak Peek summer orientation program, welcoming over 3,000 new students to RS programs and facilities through a series of engaging events. Contributing to the enhancement of department-wide relational service, I assist in the development, implementation, and assessment of initiatives aimed at improving employee performance. Serving as an on-site professional at RS facilities during professional staff rotations, I ensure the smooth operation and delivery of services. My commitment to fostering a dynamic recreational sports community drives my efforts in delivering exceptional experiences for students and promoting overall wellness on campus.

During my tenure, I played a pivotal role in the development, execution, and evaluation of large-scale events, including the JB5K, RecFest, Jump into the Semester, and Thursday Night Lights, which engaged anywhere from 400 to 3,000 participants. As an advisor to the JB5K Student Steering Committee, consisting of over 20 members, I provided valuable guidance and support throughout the planning process. Effectively communicating event goals and logistics to cross-campus partners and vendors, I ensured seamless coordination and execution. I meticulously documented program implementation, planning, and analysis in comprehensive event wrap-up reports. Additionally, I contributed to the development and implementation of an annual evaluation plan, collaborating with RS units to distribute program area surveys and utilizing Excel pivot tables and written reports to analyze survey data for informed decision-making. I spearheaded the transition of hourly staff training to an online format by developing learning outcomes, creating course content, and identifying areas for improvement. Through active participation in various workgroups, I collaborated with RS units on initiatives such as the creation of an online hourly staff job application and the planning of special events. Leveraging my skills in video software such as Camtasia, Kaltura, and Adobe Premiere, I recorded and edited training videos while also providing mentorship and coaching to over 20 hourly staff members in my capacity as a team leader. At Patoka Lake Marina and Lodging, I had the pleasure of serving families, travelers, and sportsmen from all over the nation as they were attracted to our facility on the edge of Patoka Lake. As a front desk representative, I answered phone inquiries and took reservations via phone, helped guests with check in and check out, handled payments, responded to guests emails and reviews left online or on our website, and handled requests from guests. In this position, I also ran a retail position as our front desk was located in a small convenience store. This position was very enjoyable- I received knowledge within the tourism sector while getting on the job experience.

At Big Splash Adventure, I was able to gain useful and modern knowledge on the hotel industry. In this position, I was taught basic hotel operations and Opera booking system literacy. While working with guests, I gained many soft skills such as communication, problem solving, and connection. While working as a front desk agent, I helped guests check in and out and the processes involved, handled payments, took phone reservations in our call center, converted online reservations into our system, took reservations for special events, handled "blocks" for large groups, granted guest's requests, and helped guests navigate the hotel and local area.
