About Allison Liu
Hello! I'm Allison (she/her), and I'm passionate about making present the voices historically and intentionally left out of decision-making processes. I believe in the power and importance of local voices and stories in macro-level political work, nationally and internationally. I'm a junior majoring in International Relations Political Science (IRPS) at Wellesley College. IRPS at Wellesley is an interdisciplinary program that includes training in political science, economics, and history. My hope is to turn research into action. My passion is in challenging dominant paradigms and theories in IR with a local, community centered approach, especially at the intersection between reproductive justice, health and security, and sustainable future-building on the international scale. Currently, a topic I'm interested in is the contemporary migration regime, especially how migration polices operate with colonial and carceral logics of mobility control. Currently, I'm serve as the co-president of Wellesley for Reproductive Justice and a public health track ambassador with The Pad Project for 2024-25. I am a Future Leaders Fellow at Her Bold Move, and participating in the 2024 Young Women in Nonproliferation Initiative Mentorship Program with the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies. This past summer, I worked at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance International Institute, developing collaborations with global partners on the International Cooperation Team. I have worked in various advocacy roles in community agencies and organizations. I'm always looking for more diplomacy, governance, and public policy opportunities. Reach out at AL130@wellesley.edu.
