As the librarian for the Archives of Traditional Music, I was responsible for public services (circulation, reference, and instruction), technical services (cataloging, database management, acquisitions), and other duties as head of the library (collection development, policy development and maintenance, supervision of student staff). Additionally, planned and oversaw the implementation of the move of collections to off-site storage and moving the reading room to a new location.

I was on the team within the initiative that is preparing and processing audio and audio-visual materials to be sent out for digitization and reformatting. Some of my tasks included: - Pulling materials from multiple library units- Inventorying contents of collections, assessing their data and formats- Problem solving workflows and efficiencies for the item processing side of the initiative- Collaborating with a team of diverse individuals to complete projects- Organizing and managing collaborative online documentation for the SMARTeam- Training incoming individuals on processes- Barcoding information on materials inputting data into a tracking and organizational database

I processed incoming and existing collections and donations, creating applicable metadata according to DACS and RDA standards. I created EAD finding aids for collections, and also created collection level catalogue records for the same. Other work included creating original catalog records and copy cataloging of general and special collection AV materials.

I worked with the special collections donated by prominent individuals in the realm of Latin American Music. I have worked with the Juan Orrego-Salas donated special collection, organising and arranging records in multiple formats and subjects at the file and item levels, so that fine detail access to the collection can be given to researchers. I have also started work with the Guillermo Espinosa Collection, the Latin American Music Center's administrative file records, and journals and serials from across multiple collections.

Some of the tasks included in my internship were working with/processing the Four Freshmen sheet music collection, helping conduct bibliographic instruction sessions, discussing and researching collection development, disaster planning, and donor relations, as well as other odds and ends tasks as needed.

I handled old and fragile documents, scanning, editing, and digitizing them for the IU Archives.

I inventoried over 19,000 pieces of sheet music in the William L. Simon Sheet Music Collection. I created and implemented an organizational system using multiple bibliographical and classification resources to help students and scholars more effectively use the collection within the IU Southeast Library Special Collections. I physically moved and organized the entirety of the collection of sheet music and folios. I also contemplated questions regarding music librarianship and the nature of the collection to create research projects as fulfillment of internship learning outcomes. This included a presentation for the Spring Semester to inform music student body of the collection available to them and the work I completed, in partial fulfillment of Bachelor’s Degree in Music Business. One of the research topics, which I presented at the 2014 Annual Student Conference at IU Southeast, won me the Chancellor's Award for Creative Achievement.

I organized and facilitated events and programs for around 87 residents, and provided counsel and advice to residents in academic and personal affairs. This required me to have good communication skills with a large and diverse group of people. I connected and provided residents with information about other departments and aspects of the university. I also performed various duties such as lock-out assistance and lodge security within the lodges during on-call hours and monitor sound and policy regulations.

I set up rooms for conference attendees and tore down after conference. I was in charge of making beds, giving out towels, soap, cups, information, and other relevant necessities. I was also on call if attendees needed any assistance after office hours. I pulled and put away keys and access cards before and after each conference for all attendees as well.
