Dr. Allison Meisch is a developmental psychologist with experience in research on child and family development, program evaluation, early care and education, adolescent literacy, and child and adolescent education and mental health. She has directed projects evaluating literacy interventions for middle school students and disconnected youth, and worked on projects examining the context of child and family development in a variety of settings, including evaluating the effectiveness early care and education programs and of permanency interventions for youth in foster care. In previous work, Dr. Meisch was project coordinator of Early to Learn, an early care and education quality improvement initiative in Philadelphia, and has worked with Early Head Start programs and families. She is a What Works Clearinghouse certified reviewer. Dr. Meisch has conducted hundreds of quality observations of early care and education classrooms and has assessed children, adults, and families in their homes, conducted focus groups, in-depth interviews, and home observations.
