I provide a variety of programmatic and technical management expertise to the oceanographic research community by facilitating multi-sector partnerships, ensuring data is openly shared, planning and hosting meetings and community workshops, obtaining diplomatic consent to conduct vessel-related marine scientific research, and developing close relationships with research scientists to share their research outcomes; all to enrich how marine science research is conducted and enabling researchers to do their best work. Previous experience includes facilitating federal working groups on ocean partnerships, directing the peer review process for proposal selection, maintaining the integrity of high school marine science competition questions, and meeting with Congressional staff and delegates to introduce and hand out Annual Reports, advocate for marine research bills, and generate support for ocean education programs. In 2009, I dove in DSV Alvin off the coast of Costa Rica! I have sailed on board R/V Atlantis (2009) and R/V Falkor (2015).

I facilitated the peer review process for funding opportunities that were made available to the oceanographic community through the federal agencies that were bringing multiple resources to the table.

InternConsortium For Ocean Leadership Oct 2007 - Jun 2008I served an internship at Consortium for Ocean Leadership while I was finishing my Master's thesis at Florida State University. While interning I provided support to many aspects of the NOSB program, such as ensuring the quality of the marine science questions used in competition, advocating for support of the NOSB program and other marine-related bills on Capitol Hill, and aiding in general program planning for the regional and national competitions. I also tracked ocean-related legislature as it moved through the legislative process by updating Consortium for Ocean Leadership's online Ocean Legislative Tracking system.
