I am the MDS Coordinator for Meridian Nursing Home. I handle both the LTC and SNF MDS's. I develop the residents careplans and help out on the floor as needed as well.

I am a Care Manager for Humana Insurance through Mays Housecall. I work with clients after they have recently been in the hospital to assess their needs and find the resources to help them. I also educate on their disease processes and medications.

I work as a Charge Nurse at Meridian Nursing Home. I manage patient care, perform wound care, draw blood and obtain lab specimens as needed. I make assignments to other nursing staff under the direction of the DON. I assess residents, perform glucose monitoring, admit and discharge residents, and communicate with the pharmacies and doctors as needed.

I worked on First Medical Unit of SWMC in Lawton. I admitted and discharged patients, performed head-to-toe assessments, started and managed IV's, passed medications, performed wound care on various type of wounds, and assisted the RN and CNA’s in patient care. I monitored patient's lab work and notify the doctor's as needed.

I worked on the med/surg unit for one year. I passed medications, started and managed IV's, drew blood, performed wound care, managed post-op patients, assisted the RN in admissions and discharges, and assisted the CNA in taking vital signs and personal care of the patients. I then worked for Chisholm Trail Hospice under DRH for a year. There I performed end of life care in patient's homes, managed medications, assisted families in planning for the end of life, educated families in use of medications for the hospice patient and the what to expect in the dying process. In the event of a patient death I would go out the home and make the necessary phone calls or the family and prepare the body for the funeral home. I then transferred back the med/surg unit due to scheduling conflicts. I worked on the med/surg unit for another year then transferred into the Birth Center to get more experience. in the Birth Center I administered meds to both the postpartum mother and the newborn infant. I performed postpartum care for both vaginal deliveries and cesarean section deliveries. I also assisted in the deliveries. I performed newborn care including baths, vaccinations, and hearing screens. I was also certified in neonatal resuscitation. I did oxyhood therapy, IV therapy, and photo therapy to sick neonates.
