I am board certified in Labor and Employment Law by The Florida Bar, meaning I have been evaluated for professionalism and tested for special expertise, knowledge, and skill. I am one of only approximately 200 lawyers in Florida to hold this distinction in my practice area. I am the Talent Manager for Carlton Fields’ Labor and Employment Practice Group. I try claims of discrimination, hostile work environment, and retaliation based on race, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability and other protected characteristics under the Florida Civil Rights Act, Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. My management clients look to me for advice and defense under the Whistleblower Protection Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and other employment statutes.I help employers create their own inspiring stories of recruiting and retaining employees of all abilities, including neurodiversity. #CreateYourOwnStory #InspiringWorkplaces I have completed more than 300 employee pay classification audits (exempt/nonexempt from overtime), which enriches my practice of defending employers against misclassification claims, and in collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act. I am active in the Academy of Florida Management Attorneys. Membership is by invitation only for preeminent practitioners of labor and employment law (management side only). I am Chair of the Florida Commission on Human Relations Liaison Committee and a member of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Liaison Committee. Our committees have regular meetings with key members of these agencies to address concerns raised by our membership. I am committed to mentoring less seasoned attorneys, and I publish and speak on workplace issues that affect my clients. I am also on the 15th Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee. The Committee was established by The Supreme Court of Florida and The Florida Bar and designated with the responsibility of implementing and coordinating the Circuit's pro bono plan. I am the Co-Chair of the Annual Pro Bono Awards Pinning Ceremony & Ice Cream Social that honors professionals who provide pro bono services to the local community through Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County. I regularly do pro bono too. Most recently, I appeared on behalf of an indigent party at a two-day federal jury trial through the South Florida Lawyer’s Project.
