With more than a decade of experience working with children and families, I am passionate about building strong teams and programs that provide equitable, family-driven, and individualized services. I draw on a calm, collaborative, and optimistic leadership style that focuses on effective team dynamics and a comprehensive strategic plan with actionable steps toward improved outcomes. I have worn a variety of different hats in my career: child care teacher, classroom educator, early interventionist, service coordinator, and program coordinator. Combined with my education and training, I have a well-rounded base of knowledge related to child development, IDEA Part B & C services, infant and family mental health, diversity and equity in education, policy creation and implementation, and program leadership. One of the things I value most about my current position is that I am able to be "in the muck" as a direction practitioner while also leading the team through new initiatives and program changes. I believe it is crucial for decision-makers at all levels to be in tune with what is happening on the ground, with the people who are doing the work in the field. I love nothing more than a color-coded spreadsheet and regularly utilize data in program-level decision-making. Highly organized and efficient, I am adept at managing multiple initiatives and priorities, presenting information to stakeholders and community partners in accessible ways, and utilizing reflection to improve practices and processes. Above all, I believe in the work of educators and human services professionals and am passionate about high-quality services for children and their families.
