Allison Peck is currently the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) at Neuhaus Education Center in Houston, Texas. She currently holds certifications as a Certified Academic Language Therapist-Qualified Instructor, Licensed Dyslexia Therapist for the state of Texas, and a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist per the International Dyslexia Association. She is a special education, general education, and reading specialist teacher, with her experience being in the public school (middle school) and private school (elementary) realms for the last 18 years. Allison has a BA in Political Science, an MLA in History and an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Ph.D. in Literacy from St. John's University in New York. Her dissertation and current research are centered on the link between the structured practice of oral discourse in the classroom and the development of third-grade student writing skills.Allison was drawn to work at Neuhaus Education Center because of her own experience going through the Dyslexia Specialist Preparation Program which she started when her oldest with diagnosed with dyslexia in kindergarten. Her experience at Neuhaus includes teaching all pieces of our curriculum, coaching and consulting with teachers, literacy coaches, and administrators from campuses, districts, and state departments to provide them with a Neuhaus implementation plan that will lead to reading success for all of their students.
