CurrentMuse Knoxville is a children’s museum located in Chilhowee Park, dedicated to inspiring and empowering all children through transformative STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) learning experiences. Through our onsite, community, and in-school outreach programs, we serve over 140,000 visitors and 60,000 students annually, making a $5 million+ annual economic impact. Our mission is to make our community the best place for all to learn through the power of play.As the Executive Director, I: • Oversee all strategic museum operations, managing a $1.9 million+ annual budget to support our nonprofit’s impact. • Lead the assessment and evaluation of our museum programs to ensure their effectiveness and alignment with our mission. • Conduct both short- and long-term strategic planning to guide the museum’s growth and sustainability. • Energize the greater Knoxville community and East Tennessee region, engaging them as active stakeholders in the success and expansion of Muse Knoxville. • Cultivate and develop relationships with corporate and individual donors, government entities, community organizations, and educational institutions to secure support and partnerships. • Develop and execute strategic marketing initiatives to increase awareness and engagement with our museum offerings. • Analyze demographic, educational, and socioeconomic data from the museum’s service region to better understand community needs and enhance our programmatic impact. • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to ensure transparency, alignment on goals, and a strong working relationship between the Board and museum staff. • Lead, engage, and develop the Leadership Team and museum staff, fostering a culture that upholds our mission, vision, and core values.
