* Created curriculum to challenge and motivate young people & differentiated to accommodate a variety of learning styles. Frequent themes included: Multiculturalism and the Immigrant Experience, War Survival, Heroism, Women’s Rights, Prevention of Bullying, Ethical Treatment of Animals, and Environmental issues. In depth courses on Advertising/Journalism & SciFi/ Fantasy were also taught. Assessed/edited the work of 120 students per quarter.* Managed all aspects of School Newspaper, Literary Magazine, & Rainforest Rescue Club.* Awarded three grants from the Business Education Initiative. Launched partnerships with Beardsley Zoo and Unilever HQ that allowed my students to design wildlife greeting cards, build butterfly gardens & publish a beautiful book of rainforest art & poetry.* Led a successful fundraising drive with my Rainforest Rescue Club to purchase a state of the art auditorium assembly program at Beardsley Zoo. Collaborated with World Wildlife Fund & Earth Foundation to protect endangered species and preserve tropical forests for indigenous people..*Organized trips, assemblies & author talks with the Museum of Natural History, Beardsley Zoo, Audubon, Mystic Aquarium, Nancy Drew ghostwriter Louise Ladd, Hallmark Executive Producer Eric Jarboe, various actors/artists/singers and newspaper reporters.* Coached students to victory in Trumbull Arts Festival Competition, the PTA Reflections Writing Awards and Scholastic Storyworks’ nonfiction and fiction contest multiple times.* Developed relationships with editors at Teen Ink, Magic Dragon & Creative Kids Magazine and successfully marketed student writing to these publications and other venues.

*Developed and executed public relations campaigns for the Regina A. Quick Center for the Performing Arts, a 7.5 million dollar complex, which encompasses the Walsh Art Gallery, the Aloysius P. Kelley Theatre, & the Wien Experimental Theatre. * Worked on high profile projects to promote appearances by “Piano Man” Billy Joel, television host George Stephanopoulos, and acclaimed authors Li Ly Hayslip and Frank McCourt among others. Responsible for press releases, media kits, and on air interviews with NEWS 12, Channel 8 and Connecticut radio stations. *Arranged special dinners with donors and school visits for Madame Jean Sadat, former first lady of Egypt, and collaborated with U.S Postal Service to create a Stamp Unveiling program to honor Alfred Hitchcock featuring the talents of legendary actress Janet Leigh. * Wrote features and news briefs for Campus Currents, Fairfield Now and Alumni News (circulation 30,000), and other company literature, including Study Abroad Brochures.*Served as A & E anchor on Ch. 48, Campus TV network, creating video scripts.* Tripled sales for Quick Center for the Arts & Study Abroad Programs.Some special memories are when well known cartoonist Brian Walker (Beetle Bailey/Hi and Lois) created a cartoon just for me to thank me for promoting his course at Fairfield University. It still hangs in my home to this day. Meeting the amazingly talented Al Hirschfeld when he received the Artist of the Year Award was also a dream come true. His art too graces my wall.In addition to the above highlights, I also served as "the voice of Fairfield" on the official taped greeting people would hear when they called. Occasionally visitors saw me on stage acting with the Connecticut Center Acting Ensemble under the direction of Doug Taylor and Louise Ladd, and singing with Carole Ann Maxwell's Summer Festival Choir and Mendelssohn Choir.

Volunteered to spearhead company newsletter; responsible for all aspects ofpublication (editing, writing, layout and design). Awarded the Acorn Award for this project.* Provided corporate contact for special accounts. Negotiated settlements with customers, special accounts, and government agencies. Selected as Employee of the Month.* Three-time winner of Employee Idea Quest Program*Inducted into Comp-U-Card International’s President Club in recognition of commitment to the company’s Quest for Quality Program.

* Designed unit plans on Mark Twain, the literature of Sports (Shoeless Joe, The Natural, A False Spring) and speech writing during extended absence of faculty member* Assisted in the editing/design, advertising, fundraising, and sales for the award-winning school literary magazine, Broken Shells.* Collaborated with Media Club and Art Department to create televised commercials for the club to be aired on school's morning announcements.

I wrote a story on medical illustrator Enid Vaughn Hatton for my Fairfield University Journalism course. Afterwards I was paid to model for her portrait class at Sacred Heart University. This drawing was created by Marci Macri, an extraordinarily talented student in the class. I am a devout Catholic and I was praying when she drew it. It was one of several studies she did of me. I love it!
