Current roles: Study Coordinator at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs and MSW adjunct faculty at Saint Mary University.Employed at St. Catherine University BSW Social Work Department in 2019 as the BSW Director of Field Education and in 2020, stepped into the MSW Field Director position. Taught field seminar courses and also taught MSW diversity and inequality course at Augsburg College. Has over 25 years of experience in the social work sector engaging in community practice work as a program manager at Goodwill Easter Seals and Neighborhood House agencies. Has leadership and grant writing skills. Has research research experience at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs with local and national research studies that advocate for the needs of veterans. St. Catherine University Committees: the Interprofessional Planning committee, the Liberal Arts Advisory Committee, the BIPOC committee, the Clinical/Field Education committee, and the Simulation Task force. These committees focus on high impact practices, leadership skills, strengthening the interconnectedness of faculty and students, identifying ways to better support students’ learning and engagement, and work across different professional disciplinarians.As a committee member on the MHealth Fairview Health and Well-being Collaborative, assisted in creating Mental Health First Aid trainings, helped generate COVID resource lists for the Eastside community, conducted community dialogue events to create a platform for community members voices to be heard on the topic of mental health. This event helped the creation of the Cultural Broker program model; an innovative framework based on advocacy and integral linkage to culturally meaningful mental health services.As a macro practice social worker, passionately promotes values of inclusion, equity, diversity, and community building that supports BIPOC communities.
