I am a writer, advocate, and educator with a wealth of experience working in the fields of diversity, equity, and inclusion, human rights, and restorative conflict resolution. I have a law degree from Dalhousie University. I do not practice law, but instead have built a career focused on restorative conflict resolution, gender and 2SLGBTQIA+ equality, policy and organizational change, and human rights education. This includes several years as a Human Rights Officer at the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission and my various publications and projects that have a human rights and equity focus. I currently work at Acadia University where I have two roles - I am an Adjunct Professor in the Law and Society program and I am Acadia's Sexualized Violence Response and Education Coordinator, meaning that I am responsible for leading our university’s response and education efforts related to sexual violence. In my world outside of work, I make music, write short stories, and paint.

Sexualized Violence Response And Education CoordinatorAcadia University Feb 2021 - PresentAs Acadia's Sexualized Violence Response and Education Coordinator, my primary role is to provide support for all members of the Acadia community who have been affected by sexualized violence. This means providing compassionate, confidential support to survivors, helping them understand options under Acadia's Sexualized Violence Policy, supporting survivors no matter what choice they make, and helping them navigate services and supports such as counselling, medical services, academic or workplace accommodations, and legal aid. I'm also responsible for education and trainings across campus focused on consent, bystander intervention skills, best practices when responding to disclosures, and other topics related to violence prevention and gender equity.
