I began my career in technology and urban planning, and for the past 25 years have held leadership positions in private equity, most recently as Managing Director at Fortress Investment Group, where I led private equity capital raising and investor relations for 18 years and served on the firm’s management committee. I currently consult for Fortress and also serve on the boards of Seritage Growth Properties (NYSE: SRG) and the Gowanus Canal Conservancy. I am increasingly interested in helping promote processes and technologies that address environmental problems on a large scale. Over my career, I’ve enjoyed the challenge of bringing together diverse stakeholders to transform complex ideas into reality. I’ve found that clear thinking, practical problem solving, and the straightforward communication of ideas are essential to achieving the impossible. My curiosity drives me to ask questions that expose the fundamentals at the heart of an idea. I’ve spent most of my career investing in and helping create and capitalize asset-based businesses in the form of private funds, IPOs, restructurings & recapitalizations. I’ve worked with institutional investors and boards, public and private company executives and entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders. My experience spans real estate and senior housing, transportation, infrastructure and energy, as well as non-performing loans and other financial assets.
