Selected by King County ecologists to fill an intern position opening after successfully completing eight months as a crewmember. Primary roles include support for King County Dept. of Natural Resources & Parks (KC DNRP) professional staff and assistant to field crew supervisors.-Plan, implement, and maintain restoration projects by monitoring, site preparation, and labor.-Supervise field crews efficiently by maintaining team morale while keeping to a productive schedule.-Use proper workplace safety protocols and equipment in the office and out in the field.-Aid field crews in interpreting project work orders and design plans from KC DNRP staff.-Lead volunteer events as a project designer, recruiter, organizer, educator, coordinator, and supervisor.-Manage time and resources for four field crews across multiple projects.-Use GPS and GIS software for site recon, map-grade surveying, and plan development.-Assist supervisors in scheduling, fieldwork, site logistics, and recruitment.-Provide trainings for crewmembers in team and individual responsibilities, and professional development.-Use Microsoft Office to process invoices, update production database, and manage project billing.-Possess thorough experience in navigating throughout King County highways between various KC DNRP project sites-Completed 2 years of community service in the AmeriCorps program in September 2010.-Completed training in Native Plant Use/Identification (40 hrs.), Rain Garden Installation (40 hrs.), and Flood Response (4 hrs.).
