I lead the Continuous Improvement team, overseeing lean/six sigma implementation; the internal Company Store, which is a retail space for Federal Ammunition branded products as well as other Vista Outdoor goods; and the Machine Shop, which manufactures new and reworked tooling for the production facility.

􏰀-Established, manage, and coach the Product Line’s diverse Lean Six Sigma continuous process improvement team of Black Belts, Green Belts, and Industrial Engineers in a time of restructuring to Product Lines.-Lead peers (production and engineering management team) in creating yearly strategic plans aligned with the Command’s vision, mission, principles, and strategic business goals. Includes developing the mission and vision; production goals for cost, schedule, quality, safety, and culture; and the improvement plan to redesign and optimize performance of value streams.􏰀-Coach and mentor Product Line Manager and other senior leaders in process improvement theories and methodologies, emphasizing removing waste to create flow and improve throughput.􏰀-Lead the Product Line’s Communication Team (comprised of mechanics, engineers, and various levels of managers), including the development and execution of the Product Line’s Change Management plan.􏰀-Drive process improvement team to identify new metrics where needed to capture the transition to Product Lines, and also measure the gaps and actions to progress the individual workcells as they mature on their lean journey.

􏰀-Lead Black Belt and Industrial Engineer on over 50 kaizen activities for various areas within the Command, including nuclear processes, production, engineering, contracting, business office, and project management.􏰀-Facilitated dynamic cross-functional project teams through data collection and analysis of existing processes, consideration of design alternatives, and implementation of new processes to streamline execution of shipyard projects resulting in cost, schedule, quality, and safety improvements.􏰀-Trained and mentored over 30 civilian and active duty employees with various educational backgrounds through certification in the 6 month NAVSEA Lean Six Sigma Green Belt program.􏰀-Assistant educator for the 5 week NAVSEA Black Belt College course at PSNS and coached 10 through completion.􏰀-Introduced and instituted the use of A3’s at the Command as a means to capture, communicate, and drive PDCA for process improvement activities; now the primary method for the Command to record kaizen activities.􏰀-Lead instructor for PSNS Green Belt Certification training. Significantly overhauled curriculum to align with NAVSEA Green Belt Body of Knowledge and focus learning on practical experience for students on the shop floor.

􏰀-Conducted over 100 daily time studies on different delivery routes, recording detailed information about each stop and travel conditions. Analyzed data collected with information recorded by driver’s delivery board to assist in determining if routes were properly defined and workload evenly distributed.􏰀-Was responsible for providing training to other interns on how to properly perform and reconcile time studies and evaluate driver methods.
