Stephen Allison is the Principal Architect at Allison Architecture, Glasgow based architects practice.Stephen Allison has worked at Foster and Partners in London where he developed the concept design for the Dallas Winspear Opera House in addition to this Stephen Allison designed and delivered construction of the Restaurant and Main Entrance for HMRC on Whitehall. This package included all furniture design for the spaces including the, reception desks, leather and bronze sofa benches and a white glass vases.On return to Glasgow from London, Stephen worked for Reid Architecture as ‘Concept Coach’. During this time Stephen developed the roll-out design for Marks and Spencer’s Plan-A Sustainable Flagship Store at Silverburn in Pollok Glasgow. This became the UKs first BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rated retail Fit Out.During this time Stephen Allison tutored a design studio of around 20 students at the University Strathclyde Architectural School.Allison Architecture was formed in 2007 and has steadily grown since then. The practice has produced and delivered designs for over 200 domestic clients and has successfully delivered larger scale flatted developments for a number of property developers.Allison Architecture have also carried out retail design, commercial interior design and were recently invited to pitch for the design of the refurbishment of the foyer for the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art in Edinburgh which included the design of the new reception desk. This project was completed in time for the opening of the Picasso Exhibition August 2012.Allison Architecture are currently designing the fit-out for the office headquarters of Quiz Clothing along with many other leisure, commercial, industrial and residential projects.
