Even though I was doing very well in the course and the project, Allison pushed me to revisit my metrics and question how to go beyond simply presenting a solution rather than a project that would create interest and extend to greater understanding and sharing. Most importantly, Allison created an environment where I felt comfortable leading the conversation about my research and seeking help when needed. I remember being stuck on the budget exercise of the proposal and feeling very discouraged. Allison didn’t talk me out of my feelings, rather asking a few key simple questions to get me back in the game.
