I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Director of the Vanderbilt Clinical Informatics Core. Through my own research, working with the VUMC operational health information technology team, and in collaboration with other researchers through the Clinical Informatics Core, my work primarily centers around applied clinical informatics. I am interested in developing and implementing novel, generalizable approaches to evaluating and improving electronic health records and clinical decision support using existing data sources and bringing them to the point of care to improve healthcare quality and safety across multiple healthcare organizations.
