Honored to have served as the first executive director of Washington's solar industry association.- Led Board of Directors in development of association's first strategic plan- Passed legislation that augmented Washington's net metering requirement for renewable energy systems eightfold, and restored and expanded the renewable energy sales tax exemption. - Expanded membership eligibility through member-supported change to bylaws.- Launched re-branding initiative to align association’s identity with its membership composition.- Achieved membership renewal rate of more than 90 percent.- Grew membership by more than 25 percent- Doubled member engagement and increased organizational effectiveness through establishment of committees focused on public policy, membership, ethics, fundraising, strategic planning, and re-branding. - Diversified revenue through fundraising and participation in US Dept. of Energy grant.- Represented SIW effectively as the association’s chief spokesperson, including testifying at the legislature, presenting at conferences, and interfacing with the media.

Mentored solar project development teams in four states as they competed for $1 million in prizes by developing a community solar model that serves non-profit organizations and low and moderate income households in the U.S.

Its focus is on early-stage clean technology companies whose innovations will increase the sustainability and health of our planet. My work included:• Providing energy policy and solar industry expertise in evaluation of energy deals.• Collaborating with investors to screen applicants for alignment with investment priorities.• Conducting due diligence on early-stage energy companies poised for prospective investment.• Developing data-driven marketing strategy to increase membership, engagement, and deal flow. • Creating content for organization's communications, including executive summaries and newsletter articles.

Grid Alternatives Greater Los Angeles helps low-income families save money and provides community volunteers and job seekers with hands-on experience installing solar electric systems. Since 2007 the nonprofit organization has helped more than 550 low-income families go solar in Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura Counties, saving $9.5 million in lifetime electricity costs, and preventing the release of more than 32,000 tons of CO2. More than 50 installation volunteers have found employment in the solar industry.As the first board president of GRID Alternatives Greater LA I:• Led the board in establishment of founding bylaws and other governance requirements• Recruited new board members as active participants in our mission• Hired and managed the performance of a new executive director• Raised more than $40,000 by recruiting corporate and individual donors• Participated in the installation of residential solar installations for low-income households• Championed GRID Alternative's mission to serve people, protect the planet, and promote employment in the solar industry.Prior to my role as board president I served on GRID Alternatives Greater LA's Advisory Council for 3 years.
