Dr. Allison M. Chung, Pharm.D., FCCP, FPPA, BCPPS, is a distinguished Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Auburn University's Harrison College of Pharmacy and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of South Alabama. With a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from UCSD, Dr. Chung has dedicated her career to advancing pediatric pharmacotherapy and clinical pharmacy education.Dr. Chung completed her Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center, where she gained extensive experience in clinical pharmacy practice. Following this, she pursued a Pediatric Clinical Pharmacology/Toxicology Fellowship at Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital, affiliated with Case Western Reserve University. This fellowship provided her with specialized training in pediatric pharmacology and toxicology, further enhancing her expertise in the field.Dr. Chung's professional journey includes significant roles such as Pediatric Clinical Pharmacologist at the University of South Alabama Children's and Women's Hospital and Residency Program Director at multiple institutions. Her expertise is recognized through numerous certifications, including Board Certification in Pediatric Pharmacy and Pharmacotherapy, and she has been honored with prestigious awards like the ACCP Pediatric Practice Research Network Achievement Award and the Pediatric Pharmacy Association's Scholarship-In-Teaching Award.An accomplished researcher, Dr. Chung has contributed extensively to the field with publications in leading journals and presentations at national and international conferences. Her research interests include pediatric pharmacotherapy (critical care, trauma, supplement use, probiotics), diversity/equity and the Asian American experience, seizure pharmacotherapy, medication adherence, pediatric education and the use of immersive virtual reality in pharmacy education. Dr. Chung's commitment to service is evident through her involvement in professional organizations, including serving as a Board of Regents member for the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), Board member for Ozanam Charitable Pharmacy and as a Fellow of ACCP and the Pediatric Pharmacy Association.Dr. Chung's dedication to education, research, and clinical practice has made her a respected leader in the field of pediatric pharmacy, continually striving to improve patient care and pharmacy education.
