I facilitated and applied communication strategies to support student learning and curriculum development. Overseeing content curriculum that was tailored to individual student needs, fostering creative goals, and establishing successful roadmaps were all part of my daily routine. Additionally, I collaborated with other educators to promote adaptability and problem-solving in a dynamic environment, while leading multiple visual arts programs that ensured high standards of instruction and student engagement.TEACHING EXPERIENCE (28 YEARS)- 1995-2023 Shepton High School, Jasper High School, Plano Senior High School- Developed lessons, monitored activity and engagement, established formative and summative assessments + checkpoints of understanding of acquired knowledge, fostered problem-solving skills and interpersonal and intrapersonal skills - Guided AP Studio Art students in creating original and engaging bodies of artwork and submitting their art portfolios to College Board; ~700 students, 98% passing rate- Participated in a variety of art competitions, winning awards at local, state and national levels.EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP- Campus Team Leader: coordinated lessons, sequencing, planning, prep (presentations, activities, assessment, supplies) for teaching team, consistently collaborated with team members- Campus Department Head: liaison between administration and Art Team, assisted with interviewing art teacher-candidates, mapped teaching schedule for art teachers/courses, coordinated teams within my department, ordered and organized supplies, oversaw public relations and program recruitment, oversaw art displays and gallery exhibits- District Cluster Leader: coordinated teaming within cluster, hosted meetings and planned/prepared agendas, mentor for new teachers, liaison between administration and teams- Plano ISD Team Leader Academy: curriculum development committee member and Academy presenter
