My position at the Office of Nutrition Services (ONS) at Eastern Michigan University allowed me to not only practice as a private practice dietitian, but manage an office abuzz with clients of many different backgrounds. I served as a preceptor to the junior and senior EMU dietetic students, which truly diversified my managerial skills. The opportunity to constantly learn from the students was one of the most enriching experiences at the Office of Nutrition Services. Responsibilities and achievements at ONS included: -Supervised students during individual nutrition counseling-Lead discussion on counseling interaction supplemental materials-Managed daily office activities and income/expenditures-Ensured student competencies were met to program standards-Initiated online scheduling for clients-Improved intake and documentation of payment-Increased feedback provided to students to enhance learning potential-Began an interdisciplinary annual National Nutrition Month Open House and 5K fun run -Applied for and received three grants for National Nutrition Month events and two grants for interdisciplinary professional educational opportunities -Increased collaboration with on-campus organizations such as the Women’s Resource Center, Counseling and Psychological Services, Rec/IM, Physician's Assistants Program-Requested the inclusion of a deluxe lactation room within the newly renovated ONS suite, which was honored and is in use by lactating mothers on campus-Increased income by 234% (09/2012-04/2013 vs 09/2015-04/2016)

Having worked several times for vacations and gaps between full-time dietitians at one specific facility in Jackson, MI allowed me the responsibility to train two of their new dietitians.
