I worked with over 1,000 high school students ages 14-18 at the largest secondary school in Upper Austria. As an English Language teaching assistant, I used immersive learning methods to boost students' confidence by learning from a native speaker. I crafted comprehensive lesson plans by combining American culture with reading, listening, and speaking tasks. I designed over 15 Black history month lessons for teachers to use here forward. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I had to transition to virtual learning for four months. During this time, I maximized the use of Microsoft Teams by making lesson materials and schedules accessible to my colleagues and also attending training sessions to become comfortable with the software. I also supported students with tutoring sessions to prepare for their final exams and raise their grade in English.

In this role, I worked with the press team at the bureau. I enhanced the bureaus Instagram page that had not been used in nearly 6 years by posting regular content and gaining over 500 followers in 4 months. I tracked the progress of user engagement on Instagram by creating analytical reports sent directly to the spokesperson. I also created a social media influencer database to engage with users focusing on refugees and migration. This project was to show the deputy secretary the impact that social media influencers have on the bureaus key issues.

I served over 12,000 students at the largest public Historically Black College and University (HBCU) in the nation. In this role, I served as a member of the Board of Trustees and as a bridge between the students and administration. I sat on the Tuition and Fees committee where I successfully advocated for a decrease in out-of-state tuition from $102 to $51 for the 2021-2022 academic school year. I also successfully advocated for an early polling site for students who lived on a racially gerrymandered campus. I hosted a night shuttle ride for the Chancellor and his senior cabinet members to exhibit the need for more safety measures including more shuttles, lights around campus, and security presence at night. I successfully petitioned for more breakfast options through a student dining survey that received over 1500 entries. I created a policy guide for students to see the legislation and candidates they could vote for in the 2020 primary election.

I built connections with community partners requiring me to travel throughout the Guilford County area. I secured a grant of $5,500 in cooperation with the High Point Housing Authority to create an interactive learning center for over 10 children in an underserved community. This grant would fund the purchase of furniture, books, toys, and a computer. I formed a partnership with Guilford Child Development to facilitate active reading training to over 50 day care providers in Guilford County, NC. I worked with community partners to help implement a bilingual summer reading program. I was responsible for helping children ages 0-12 with craft time and reading during storytime.

I analyzed policy on third-party map drawing to combat gerrymandering. This research was conducted as a part of a 23-page proposal founding a policy/legislative group. I researched key issues of specific communities to brief Angela before speaking engagements. I assisted with research for the "On One with Angela Rye podcast" upon request.

I Managed a team of 5 and assigned stories to be shared weekly. I guided my team as we transitioned from printing less physical papers to posting articles, videos, and graphics on an online platform. I worked with the executive staff on the Poynter News University Project awarded to us. Our project titled "The Black Narrative" exposed media biases against NCA&T especially around criminal offenses committed on or near campus. As a part of this project, I investigated the Clery Act and the university's negligence to make criminal statistics easily accessible to students.

In this role, I was required to travel twice a week throughout Guilford and Alamance county. I crafted a college-friendly pamphlet that was used for canvassing efforts on the college campuses of UNCG and North Carolina A&T. This pamphlet was received by over 1,000 students on the campus of North Carolina A&T. I organized and executed 2 donor events to build the candidates presence in Guilford County, NC. I spoke with key stakeholders in the campaign to ensure their continued support. I motivated a team of 10 college students for weekly phone banking efforts.

I was selected as one of 25 college students to work with members on Capitol Hill. While working in the office of Congressman Butterfield, I developed a database to track tech companies’ annual diversity reports as a part of the CBCF Tech 2020 initiative. This database conveyed the lack of diversity within a majority of the tech companies and helped the Congressman in his mission to diversify the workforce. I lobbied the Department of Appropriations to halt funding to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement while children were being separated from their families at the Mexico-United States border. I Assessed the hog farming crisis in eastern North Carolina to be used in a Medium post. I collaborated with the legislative aid to draft a memo identifying issues within Durham County's housing market and gentrification. I supported staff by writing memos and drafting talking points for the Congressman.
