Manage onboarding of incoming attorneys from dissolved solo medical malpractice defense firm.Develop protocol, procedures, and templates for managing entire medical malpractice caseload. Organize internal workflow and work assignments for medical malpractice litigation team.Assemble, review and summarize medical records. Act as a liaison between witnesses, experts and opposing counsel to coordinate depositions and meetings. Cross-train paralegals and other support staff, coordinate workflow meetings and delegate assignments relating to caseload.Maintain medical malpractice case timelines, action items, and notate pertinent contacts.Review incoming filings and correspondence and identify dates for docketing.Coordinate depositions with counsel and witnesses; prepare deposition notices, schedule court reporters, and confirm depositions.Prepare answers to complaints, draft initial disclosures, prepare discovery requests, qualified protective orders, motions, case evaluation and facilitation summaries, affidavits of meritorious defense, witness lists, releases, stipulation and orders, as well as other appropriate pleadings and discovery documents.Maintain Public Service Commission docketing, investigate and track electronic filings for Public Utility clients.Prepare correspondence, applications and pleadings for regulatory and compliance filings relating to telecommunications, natural gas and electricity clients. Coordinate and assemble exhibits, testimonies and discovery.Research statutes, pending legislation, administrative rules or decisions relating to regulatory and compliance requirements for public utilities.
