Advised municipal clients on complex issues such as drafting ordinances, code enforcement and zoning. Assisted special district clients with the elections process for imposing or increasing fees. Provided guidance to all public entity clients regarding conflicts of interest under the Political Reform Act and other state laws. Interacted regularly with supervising attorneys and staff of municipal and public agency clients to ensure prompt and comprehensive responses to client questions.

Researched and drafted memoranda regarding the application of statutes and regulations related to energy supply and generation issues. Advised supervising attorneys regarding conflict of interest issues applicable to public employees. Regularly attended staff meetings and interacted with supervising attorneys to monitor status of pending matters.

Drafted and submitted comments on Environmental Impact Reports. Drafted Motion for Summary Adjudication, including supporting Memorandum. Reviewed administrative records and co-authored several briefs in California Environmental Quality Act cases. Prepared and responded to discovery requests in numerous cases. Worked on a variety of projects for a solo-practitioner with minimal supervision, including overseeing daily office functions while employer was in Europe for three weeks.

Assigned to Public Rights Division, Natural Resources/Land Use/Environment Sections. Assisted in discovery for and preparation of a large case concerning a contaminated mine site in Northern California. Conducted site visits and historical research regarding ownership of the mine. Researched and wrote legal memoranda on a variety of topics including environmental liability under CERCLA and RCRA and indemnity for environmental liabilities. Drafted initial complaint in case.

Aided in research and development projects for a large-scale proposed physics experiment. Collected, analyzed and presented research data for weekly meetings with project leaders and participating scientists.
