Resilient Fairfax Program Manager (Senior Climate Planner Iv)
CurrentFairfax County Office of Environmental and Energy Coordination (OEEC):*Leads Fairfax County's “Resilient Fairfax” Climate Adaptation and Resilience Plan and implementation program, coordinating over 25 county agencies, 100+ staff, and a range of external entities for both planning and implementation of 48 resilience initiatives. These initiatives include a range of policy and code updates, community services, aid, and education, infrastructure and building upgrades, and restorations of adaptive environments. *Works to build the resilience of county infrastructure, public services, populations, and natural resources that are vulnerable to climate-related hazards (flooding, severe storms, extreme heat).*Helps vulnerable residents adapt to increasing extreme heat by connecting them to AC and other cooling services, leveraging both county and non-profit entities to fill the gaps in service *In addition to county departments, works with external authorities, infrastructure managers, utilities, businesses, non-profit entities, and the general public for climate resilience initiatives.*Additionally assists with Fairfax County's HomeWise program, which seeks to assist low and moderate-income county residents with energy efficiency, water saving and utility bill reducing improvements at home*Assists with additional OEEC initiatives as needed, including energy and emissions reduction projects
