Joined ARFD in 2013 to build its Special Education Law Department. Via outreach, branding and networking, grew this section of the firm, representing parents in their pursuit of a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and New York law. Helps families of children who have disabilities obtain the services and support their sons or daughters to make meaningful educational progress. Supervises several associates providing frequent guidance and training, as well as Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses. Oversees any and all operations of the practice including administrative tasks. Works alongside associates, drafting letters, preparing complaints, negotiating and litigating cases. Regularly engages with the New York City Department of Education and other surrounding school districts in pursuit of private school tuition and compensatory education services.

Fostered the creation of a new special education law division within an established firm. Represented parents and guardians in the pursuit of a free appropriate public education consistent with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Filed impartial hearing requests against the New York City Department of Education for additional educational services and supports. Negotiated with the Office of General Counsel for private school tuition reimbursement and compensatory education hours. Finalized Article 17-A Guardianships, and counseled families on the transition planning process.

Attended impartial hearings on behalf of parents and guardians. Reviewed transcripts and exhibits from a number of impartial hearings in preparation of writing closing briefs. Advised clients on the process of creating their son or daughter's impartial hearing request. Provided guidance regarding the process for drafting an individualized education plan or program, and strategies for negotiating with the Committee on Special Education.

Inherited a number of ongoing cases and continued the litigation process. Conducted depositions and wrote a Motion for Summary Judgment pertaining to the Americans with Disabilities Act. Worked with the Syracuse University Parent Advocacy Center and helped parents with special education concerns. Conversed with clients and opposing counsel.

Reviewed Equal Employment Opportunity claims, interviewed department supervisors, and responded to complaints. Examined license agreements and interpreted provisions concerning the City of New York, as well as drafted contract amendments. Created legal memorandums concerning: the First Amendment, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and women’s rights issues. Oversaw numerous permits for “Special Events” within the City of New York, and edited them appropriately.

Acted as a liaison between clients and attorneys. Drafted Freedom of Information Act requests and client retainers. Answered the firm's Medicaid hotline and contacted top figures at the Income Maintenance Administration to remedy various health care issues for clients. Proof read briefs, sworn statements, motions, and aided in exhibit preparation. Reviewed permits and regulations for air and water treatment plants and assessed penalties. Conversed with various state Departments of Environmental Protection for research purposes. Attended meetings and conversed with government organizations, as well as opposing counsel on behalf of the firm.
