As a Senior Software Engineer Manager, I lead a team of talented engineers that design, develop, and implement DNS, DHCP and IPAM services for the enterprise. Using my software engineering experience to work as an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) evangelist. I was given the mandate to move a team of cloud engineers to the IaC approach to engineering. Created CI/CD Azure DevOps YAML pipelines and repository structures. I advocate for IaC adoption by training and mentoring engineers on how to move towards coding implementations using VS Code, Bicep, PowerShell and DSC instead of portal-based changes. Introduced branching strategies and coding conventions to facilitate tasking, branching, pull requests and deployments. Designed and implementing a proof of concept to integrate IPAM services into DevOps pipelines. Working across teams to implement security improvements and to impact the development of features to facilitate wider adoption of IaC approach. Designed an application to view xml created by InfoPath as a web page. InfoPath is a Microsoft product that was widely used to automate forms used in business processes. The application that I designed is extensible and is used to view numerous types of forms. The application is built using React/Redux/TypeScript. It is hosted in IIS as a standalone web site, it has also been implemented as SPFx web part and classic SharePoint page. My creative design solved a very large problem of how to make 100,000’s of different types of forms readable and true to original without modifying the archived xml.Leading a small team of developers to maintain and upgrade government customer's electronic forms system. Also leading another team to stabilize a SQL Server implementation and update numerous web applications.

Designed and implemented applications to automate multi-step, multi-role processes. Applications replaced paper/email based processes to request funding and approvals. Systems included tracking of statistics to provide reports for management. Some processes had security requirements to handle PII data. Implementation utilized SharePoint lists, libraries, workflows, custom forms using JSOM, AJAX, REST, JQUERY, CSS and HTML. Designed and implemented client side process that secured documents based on tags applied to documents from managed term stores. Implementation included multiple custom columns using Client Side Rendering (JSLinks) and QuickEdit customization.Implemented custom branding of on-premises SharePoint site collections using shared managed navigation.Collected requirements, created project plans, documented project implementations and kept management appraised of delivery dates, risks and issues. Wrote user acceptance tests and managed production delivery for multiple applications.Designed and implemented application to manage multinational association’s reporting of sales data for multiple companies. Initially converted a DOS based application to ASP.Net, Crystal Reports and SQL Server 2005. The application allows users to upload Excel spreadsheets that are pushed to a custom SQL Server database. Implemented application in SharePoint 2010 and have upgraded application to 2013 and 2016. Also, upgraded database from SQL Server 2008 to 2012 and 2016. NTOC required a robust platform to allow federated users to collaborate securely. As the Solution Architect, having a deep understanding of technologies like private key infrastructure (PKI), SharePoint, claims authorization, identity management, service oriented architecture (SOA), etc. allowed me to design and implement an innovative approach to solving this customer’s complex security requirements. The platform was certified above Protection Level 3 (PL3). The SharePoint platform had a 99.9% uptime that allowed for the support of 24x7 operations. This platform provided the foundation needed to implement many mission critical, security sensitive solutions. Among these were the automation of notifications to NTOC, the automation of business processes and the creation of portals to centralize the viewing of disparate data sources.In addition, we implemented a Director of NSA task to create a communication system that facilitates real-time cyber operations at the national level. We took an iterative approach; the first iteration took two days. We continued to work with multiple user communities to improve the solution’s functionality over multiple iterations. As with all implementations the security concepts of confidentiality, integrity and availability were at core to the solution design. It received security and policy’s certification for use at the NSA. Sandia National Laboratories, has a highly customized security infrastructure that posed a challenge for integration with SharePoint. The customer could not use Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS). I lead architectural discussions with customer. I recommended implementing SAML authenticated SharePoint where the SAML claims were generated from integrating Identity Server (open source) with the customer's authentication system. By using a custom token service, SharePoint was encapsulated from the complexities of the customer’s authentication environment.
