As a member of a new UX Research Team at CNH Industrial, I created resources to lay the foundation of research practices and processes to bring valuable insights to designers and product teams. I introduced and implemented a customer knowledge tool for our team to organize and synthesize data from studies, and have taken up the role as our team's scrum master.The bulk of my responsibilities as a UX Researcher revolve around planning and conducting studies for the UIUX Design Team and relevant product owners, from writing discussion guides, interviewing participants, and delivering findings. I've had the opportunity to expand my research capabilities to include more quantitative methods and gain experience in the agriculture and construction industries.

My interest in UX Research began while speaking to customers as a Sales Engineer. I started relaying customer feedback I received (through product demonstrations and support calls) to the UX Research team, and helped make recommendations on how to improve our products. I was able to provide a technical perspective on what our customers are looking for and how they are using the applications.After I joined the UX Research Team, I've been collaborating with multiple Product Teams and stakeholders to strategize research projects, methods, and goals. I assisted with recruiting participants, preparing interview scripts and surveys, and conducting moderated user testing sessions. When I was not actively working on a project, I spent time completing UX audits and heuristic evaluations for new features and websites. My proudest achievement has been establishing and launching Zoho's internal research panel. By using a variety of applications such as Zoho CRM, Forms, Survey, and Flow, we are now able to conduct generative research studies and receive feedback from current users of our products.Outside of my day-to-day UX Researcher responsibilities, I spent time spearheading and managing Zoho Circles, an employee experience and culture enrichment program. Zoho has been hiring many remote employees, and this program allowed colleagues to meet one another outside of their departments in an organic laidback environment.

As a Sales Engineer at Zoho, my responsibilities revolved around assisting trial users during their evaluation process of Zoho CRM, Zoho CRM Plus, and Zoho One. I conducted live product demonstrations for customers to help them see the apps in action and ask questions; I provided technical support by phone and email whenever needed. I worked in tandem with our team of Account Executives to understand customers' requirements and to work towards closing deals together.On a daily basis, I used a multitude of applications from the Zoho suite to keep track of my tasks. I also had multiple Zoho accounts that were customized and populated with dummy data for demonstration and proof of concept purposes. It was important that my demo accounts were up to date so customers could understand how advanced features worked, and could see the reporting capabilities.Within my first year as a Sales Engineer, I was given the opportunity to participate in Zoholics Canada in Fall 2019. I emceed on both days, and gave a presentation on Zoho SalesIQ's chat bot feature to hundreds of attendees. On top of gaining valuable technical knowledge, my experience in this role allowed me to improve my communication skills. In addition to working with the Sales team, I created written resources to document the processes in our customer-facing teams. I also relayed customer feedback and suggestions for improvement about our webpages and applications to the respective UX teams, developer teams, marketing teams, and editors.

After graduating with my degree in Mechanical Engineering, I was excited to start my career at Waymo as a way to continue my interest at the forefront of technology in the automotive industry. The process of driving well requires a lot of human intuition, so it's complicated to teach a machine to drive properly and safely. As a Fleet Response Specialist, my responsibilities revolved around supporting the self-driving vehicles to make sure they operated safely and were learning the correct way to drive. As the technology advanced, I adapted to updated hardware and software builds, and operational guidelines.

As an intern for the Cab Structures and Interiors group at Peterbilt Motors Company, I helped create a custom feature requested by a customer to be implemented onto their fleet of trucks. The customer wanted a third-party DVR camera to be mounted directly to the header as opposed to the windshield to avoid re-installation should a windshield need to be replaced. The designs were modeled using PTC Creo Parametric (Pro/E), then manufactured and tested in our research and development (R&D) lab. I also learned about the manufacturing and installation processes that happen on the production line to make my design easier and faster to install. In order to edit and release drawings, I familiarized myself with PACCAR's corporate drawing formats and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). On top of all the technical skills I gained, I experienced how engineers work in a big business along with balancing corporate and personal life. I improved my communication skills from keeping in touch with coworkers, upper management, and suppliers through email and phone calls on a daily basis.

Formula SAE is a collegiate competition hosted by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) where teams from different college campuses design, build, and test prototype Formula-style race cars they build. Every year that we enter the competition, we manage a year-long project from the brainstormed ideas to the finished product.As the Chief Ergonomics and Safety Engineer, I was responsible for everything our drivers interact with, along with their comfort and protection. This included but was not limited to our car’s steering system, pedal assembly, shifter and clutch, and seat. My involvement on the team strengthened my skills as a natural leader, as well as proves my ability to thrive while working in a multidisciplinary team. I received practice using SolidWorks to create computer-aided designs (CADs) for each part I need to make, and also experience on the manual mills and lathes in the machine shop to bring these designs to life.
