I was a full time volunteer for the Morris Creek Watershed Association, living and working in Montgomery, WV. I had the privilege of working with many people from state agencies such as the WV Department of Environmental Protection, and the WV Department of Natural Resources. I also worked with individuals from national organizations such as the EPA and USDA. My work required that I write grants for watershed activities, participate in educational programs for students of all ages, and conduct water monitoring of the local creek to measure its water quality. The goal of MCWA is to undo as much environmental damage as possible that was incurred through poor mining practices from the early 1900s. I enjoyed my time in WV and learned so much about the environmental impact of coal mining.

I worked with Dr. Hoff from the University of Miami in his inorganic chemistry lab. My research involved the conceptual design, and refurbishment of a glove box for the sole purpose of conducting calorimetry with toxic gases. Our project involved us working closely with a research group from MIT and using chlorine gas to conduct the calorimetry.

I helped to manage a $100,000 grant awarded to the Cane's Emergency Response Team to replicate its student run student led emergency response team on other college campuses within the state of Florida. This grant was awarded by the Jessie Ball DuPont Fund and was to progress over the course of three years. I helped to rework the existing budget guidelines and edit the remaining budget to reflect our spending for the last year. I also assisted with gathering the necessary documents to send to potential schools in hopes of securing interested parties to participate in this endeavor. I worked here as the Vice President of Training and later as the President of the Cane's Emergency Response Team.My other duties included helping students who came into the office looking for volunteering opportunities find those openings and begin their community service experience. I also helped with managing the daily activities in the office which housed almost all the student groups on campus. The director served as the adviser for many of these groups, so there were always tasks that needed to be completed.

I volunteered as an Emergency Medical Technician responding to medical emergency calls. My duties required me to helped treat patients and assist in their transport to the hospital. My highest rank was Assistant Driver.I was trained in the emergency medical practices that are necessary to sustain life in the event of a traumatic injury. I was also trained in CPR and First Aid for Healthcare Providers. I worked closely with other trained members of the community as well as Paramedics and Emergency Room nurses/doctors.
