I served as a positive role model for middle school girls. We focused on nutrition, fitness and building a positive self-image. Our main goal was to inspire girls to believe in themselves.

I spent most of my internship dedicated to a team assembled specifically to respond to the demands of accelerated discovery and trial preparation for a federal Equal Pay Act/defamation case in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. I also spent time in discovery in a class action case pending in the United States District Court. In both cases, I performed a range of tasks essential to the defense of the District of Columbia, the University of the District of Columbia and a number of senior government officials in demanding, complex, federal litigation.While serving in this capacity, I digested deposition transcripts, prepared document productions, and assisted senior attorneys in preparing to take depositions. I was also required to do my fair share of routine and tedious tasks that are inescapable in litigation, including scanning documents, organizing voluminous case files, photocopying, converting documents into various formats for use in court filings and preparing pretrial submissions and trial exhibits.I observed federal court hearings and attended depositions in which I took notes for use in preparing a summary judgment motion. I was exposed to a substantial amount of discussion related to litigation strategy and tactics, as well as observing client representation. My skills as a highly detailed and meticulous individual were key to this intern experience.
